Sports Injury Chiropractic Care That Helps You Move Forward
Personalized evaluation and conservative treatment for athletes and active adults dealing with pain, restricted movement, training setbacks and common sports injuries.
Care for active people
More Than Temporary Pain Relief
A sports injury can affect the way you train, work and move through everyday life. The painful area is important, but it may not tell the whole story. Limited joint motion, muscle weakness, training load, previous injuries and movement compensation can all contribute.
At JP Chiropractic, we evaluate the injured region and the mechanics around it. Your plan is built around the activity you want to return to—whether that is golf, running, strength training, recreational sports or physically demanding work.
Problems we commonly evaluate
- Back and neck strains
- Shoulder and rotator-cuff irritation
- Hip and knee pain
- Muscle pulls and trigger points
- Golfer’s or tennis elbow
- Overuse and repetitive-strain symptoms

Your Sports Injury Treatment Plan
Joint and Movement Care
Chiropractic techniques may be used to improve motion in areas that are restricted and contributing to painful compensation.
Muscle and Soft-Tissue Care
Dry needling, cupping, myofascial techniques or other targeted methods may be recommended when muscle tension and soft-tissue irritation are involved.
Therapeutic Exercise
Progressive mobility, strength and control exercises help translate short-term improvement into better movement and a safer return to activity.

How We Measure Progress
Recovery is not judged by pain alone. We also look at range of motion, strength, tolerance for daily activity and the specific movements your sport requires. Recommendations may include temporary training modifications while you rebuild capacity.
Some injuries require imaging, orthopedic evaluation or emergency care. We explain when conservative care is appropriate and refer when examination findings suggest a fracture, major ligament injury, tendon rupture, neurologic problem or another condition outside our scope.
Seek prompt medical evaluation for:
- Obvious deformity or suspected fracture
- Inability to bear weight after an acute injury
- Major swelling, instability or a locked joint
- New weakness, widespread numbness or loss of coordination
- Head injury symptoms such as confusion, vomiting or worsening headache

Frequently asked questions
Sports Injury Questions
Do you treat sports injuries if I am not a competitive athlete?
Yes. We work with recreational athletes, active adults and people whose work or exercise creates similar movement demands.
Should I stop exercising after a sports injury?
That depends on the injury. Some people need temporary modification rather than complete rest. Your examination helps determine which activities are appropriate and how to progress.
Can dry needling be part of sports injury care?
It may be recommended when muscle trigger points, tightness or restricted movement are relevant and you are an appropriate candidate.
When does a sports injury need imaging?
Imaging may be recommended when the history or examination suggests fracture, major structural injury, persistent neurologic symptoms or another concern that requires clarification.
