Who May Be a Candidate for Spinal Decompression?
Decompression may be considered for certain patients with disc-related back or neck pain, sciatica, nerve irritation or persistent stiffness. A diagnosis alone does not determine candidacy; your symptoms, examination, medical history and treatment tolerance all matter.
Decompression is not appropriate for everyone. Pregnancy, recent spinal fracture, significant instability, certain surgical hardware, severe osteoporosis, infection, tumor and other medical conditions may require a different approach. We screen for contraindications and coordinate with other healthcare providers when needed.
